Basic Chili Mac

April15

I love chili mac, but it’s one of those things I always have to google because I can’t remember how to make it. This is a recipe I threw together using various recipes with the ingredients I happened to have on hand. We thought it turned out pretty good.

Vodka Barbecue Sauce

March29

This is a recipe a friend found on the BBQ Pit Boys website. Great on ribs in combination with the Brown Sugar Dry Rub. It’s a spicy barbecue sauce with a bit of a kick.

Brown Sugar Dry Rub

March29

My husband recently bought a smoker so we’ve been trying a lot of different rub recipes lately. This one was passed on to us and we tried it on ribs in combination with the Vodka Barbecue Sauce recipe (also posted on this website) and thought it was a combination of recipes worth keeping.

Potato-Crusted Quiche

March18

I adapted this recipe from the Spring ‘13 issue of Food & Family. My version is more of a ‘breakfast bake’ than a quiche. I love having leftovers of this type for a quick heat-and-eat breakfast on weekday mornings.

Pistachio Bread

March18

I’ve always been a fan of pistachio pudding, so this recipe caught my eye when I saw it on Pinterest. St. Patrick’s Day seemed like the perfect time to give it a try. The green food coloring makes it VERY green, which is okay for St. Patrick’s Day, but any other time of year I’ll probably cut back on the food coloring or cut it out completely.

Sloppy Joe Hotdish

February16

This recipe is so extremely easy. Plus I was thrilled to see my pre-schooler gobble it up. That’s two thumbs up from this momma!

Cheesy Bacon Chicken

December30

I found this idea on Pinterest. I’m generally not a huge chicken breast fan, but I thought this was really good and my family liked it as well.

Trisha Yearwood’s Apple Dumplings

December30

Saw this on Trisha’s show on Food Network and had to give it a try since my husband loves apples. He told me “These…are AWESOME” so I guess I better save the recipe so I can make them again! Next time I make them just for my family I’ll halve the recipe and just bake off the rest of the biscuits.
